Sheridan College’s mission is "to be Canada's premier polytechnic institute, dedicated to exceptional applied learning and graduate success." The college’s Centre for Advanced Manufacturing and Design Technologies, which opened in the fall of 2005 in Brampton, Ontario, provides enough space for Sheridan to serve more than 16,000 additional students. Sheridan is known for academic excellence and applied research, taught by a dedicated faculty in an invigorating environment. Sheridan has won more Premier's Awards- 11 in total- than any other Ontario college. Furthermore, the Sheridan faculty and students have received more ACCC national awards of excellence than any other college in Canada. In 2003, Sheridan introduced its first applied degree, the Bachelor of Arts (Animation), which built on its worldwide reputation in the field of animation and grew to garner international recognition.
